Cardiff by the Sea, a town of 60,000 is a shoreline community located in San Diego County, California with two miles of Pacific coastline. Founded about 1911, Cardiff by the Sea is tucked between Encinitas and Solana Beach. It is located north-west of the San Elijo Lagoon.
Along the south side on Manchester Avenue lie horse ranchettes and strawberry fields. It is 25 miles north of downtown San Diego and 95 miles south of Los Angeles. Cardiff by the Sea operates as part of the City of Encinitas and still considers itself as a separate entity.

Annual events include, the Greek Festival at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church every September and a a Chili Cook-off in October.
